Do I need any special license to rent a trailer from Mountain View Trailer Rentals?

Nope! No special license is needed to rent a trailer from us. All trailers in our fleet can be driven with a standard driver’s license. Our team will provide you with all the necessary information and instructions for safe and easy operation of the trailer.

Mountain View Trailer Rentals is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm. Pick-up and drop-off times are flexible within these hours to accommodate your schedule.

All our trailer rentals are currently based on a round-trip basis, meaning the trailer must be returned to our Calgary location at the end of the rental period.
What are the vehicle requirements for towing a trailer?
What are the vehicle requirements for towing a trailer?
To tow one of our trailers, we recommend a 3/4 ton truck or a vehicle that can handle the total weight or Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of the trailer. It’s important to check the manufacturer’s specifications for your vehicle’s towing capacity.
Additionally, a class IV hitch or a tow package strong enough to handle the GVW is recommended, along with a 2 5/16″ ball for most of our trailers or a 2″ ball for our single-axle trailers. If you don’t have one, don’t fret – we can provide rentals (ball & mount) with a gross tongue weight rating of 15,000 lb.
You’ll also need a 7 Pin Round Light Plug Receptacle, and every towing vehicle must have a brake controller. If your vehicle doesn’t have a brake controller, we rent wireless Bluetooth brake controllers.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and debit cards for payment. Corporate accounts can be set up with a completed credit application and can be paid for via credit or debit card, direct deposit, or cheque. Mountain View Trailer Rentals reserves the right to charge any amount of deposit.

To receive a full 100% refund of the security deposit, all cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the start of your reservation.

The size of the trailer you will need for your move will likely depend on the number of bedrooms in your home.
On average, a one-bedroom home will require a moving trailer that is 16 ft by 8.5 ft wide, 980 cubic feet. A two-bedroom home will require a trailer that is 16 – 20 ft by 8.5 ft wide, 980 – 1220 cubic feet, while a three-bedroom home will require a trailer that is 20 – 22 ft by 8.5 ft wide, 1220 – 1450 cubic feet. Our team can assist you in selecting the right size trailer for your specific needs.
